David is a stand up comedian, writer,  actor & producer based in London and performing all over the UK.

In 2022 David created his debut stand up show, Mediocre Gay, which premiered at The Camden Fringe and sold out its run before heading to Vault Festival and then visiting other cities in the UK including Hull, Brighton and Leciester.  The following year he created his next show, David Ian: (Just a) Perfect Gay, which went to The Edinburgh Fringe where it was named one of the top 10 LGBTQ+ shows to see at The Fringe by both Attitude Magazine and Broadway Baby.  He has performed at numerous live events including Milton Keynes Pride, Wembley Park Pride and Ludlow Pride as well as Queer Nature After Dark at Kew Gardens.

In 2023 he produced and starred in Live at The Queer Comedy Club which was broadcast worldwide on OUTtv and on OUTflix in the UK. You can watch the first episode on YouTube.  His first comedy special was released in May 2024 on OUTtv and OUTflix as part of the Stand Up Specials London series.

David was a semi finalist in the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2022, winner of Queerovision in 2022 and winner of Whole Lotta Comedy. He has been featured on BBC Radio, Insane in the Men Brain podcast with Rich Wilson and Times Radio as well as in The Guardian, Metro, The Herald, British Comedy Guide and Attitude Magazine.

David cohosts his podcast, Mediocre Gay, with long term collaborator, Kate Dale, where they interview a different guest episode about what they love but everyone else thinks is mediocre.
